I want to paint my own tree and decorations. Which paints should i use?
We recommend using thin washes of water based paints (acrylics are the best) and to let your tree/decorations dry between coats. Do not use too much water as it may cause the wood to warp.
You can also collage on your tree, and use glitter!! Decorate with your children for a whole bundle of extra fun.
How tall is the Alberello? How much does it weigh?
The Alberello is made form 0.25 inch/5 mm thick Birch Plywood, it is 54 inches/137cm from top hook to the bottom ring. But once you have ornaments on top and bottom it averages to 12 inches/30cm more in height. The tree will usually hang at least 12inches/30cm off the ground making a total height of about 78inches / 188cm. The bottom ring has a diameter of 36 inches /92 cm .
The tree weighs 4lb/1.8kg without decorations. With 2 sets of our decorations it goes up to 6.5lb/2.8kg. We have tested our tree and it comfortably held 8lb/3.6kg of decorations ( that is a lot of decorations!!) but we do not recommend going much beyond that.
Do you have a smaller tree because I don’t have enough room for the Alberello in my apartment?
You can make the tree smaller by removing the bottom ring. If you want it smaller still, take off the next ring. ( see it here)
How long does it take to put the Alberello together?
It will take no more than ten minutes to string the rings together and five to put the anchor and screw in the ceiling. Have a look at our video.
Easier than carrying a tree down the street, cleaning the pine needles from the hallway, watering the tree throughout the holiday and finally having to throw it out into the street.
Some rings of my tree were a bit warped when I unpacked them?
The tree is made of wood and may respond to moisture in the air and temperature. A little warping is quite natural. When it is hanging up and decorated you won’t even notice it. If, however, you feel your tree is unreasonably warped please take a picture of it and send it to us and we’ll look into replacing it.
How do I store the Alberello?
Place the Alberello back in the box and store in a dry room. Lay flat if possible. Under the bed is good. The Alberello is made of wood and may warp if stored in humid conditions.
I’d love to buy the Alberello but the ceiling of my living room is very high. Do you have any kind of stand that would support it?
Some of our customers have created a stand by screwing together the contents of our packaging and a 6ft. pine square stick for a very pretty stand ( see pictures below). You could also use a wooden curtain rod and any Christmas tree-stand usually both easily available at hardware stores.
